Depending on the time of day and the season, our the Hintersee shimmers and shines in various shades of blue and green. Sometimes it presents itself clouded in silver-gray or glowing turquoise under clear sunlight.

Just a 10-minute walk from Hotel Fischerwirt, you will find this gem of the Salzkammergut, the Hintersee.  The crystal-clear water of the lake has drinking water quality and offers water temperatures of up to 24 degrees Celsius - a perfect refreshment on hot summer days. The private Fischerwirt beach is reserved for our hotel guests, ensuring pleasant hours directly at the Hintersee.

Fischerwirt's privately owned area offers our guests everything the heart desires: shady trees and bushes, sun umbrellas & lounge chairs.

Enjoy the tranquility and privacy at the lakefront. In Faistenau, we attach great importance to the preservation of our crystal clear lake! Therefore, motorboats are prohibited, only rowing boats & stand-up paddleboards are allowed at the Hintersee. Enjoy the splashing of water and pieceful chirping of birds.

For those who prefer jogging, hiking, or cycling, our crystal clear lake offers a 4.9 km circular route without any traffic and a consistently flat path. Ideal conditions for healthy exercise in the fresh air, also yoga and pilates by the lake or beach volleyball.
